Impact of New Federal and State Safety Legislation
on the Consumer Products, Toy, and Furniture Industries

The new Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CPSIA), signed by President Bush in August, is considered the most comprehensive overhaul of U.S. consumer product safety laws since the 1970’s.  The proposed Toy Industry Association “Toy Safety Certification Program” (TSCP) will be a mandatory certification program for the toy and children’s products industry.  The new CARB Rule for reducing formaldehyde emissions in composite wood products will apply to many furniture and other wood products sold in California.  Please join us to learn more about these new changes in the law and, more importantly, how they will impact your business.
